The Cooperative Development Agency (CDA), in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Government of Liberia, has launched a major agricultural input distribution initiative aimed at strengthening farmers’ cooperatives across Lofa County.

The exercise forms part of the ongoing UNDP/CFBM Project being implemented by the CDA to empower local farmers and promote inclusive agricultural growth under President Joseph NyumaBoakai’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development.

Speaking at the distribution center in  Kolahun,  Lofa County,  Harris B. Wennie, Director for Program and Projects at the CDA, underscored the importance of the initiative

He described the event as a direct step toward achieving President Boakai’s vision of empowering farmers as key contributors to national development.

“When farmers are empowered, the nation can depend on them,” Mr. Wennie stated.

“We at the CDA, along with our partners, will continue to ensure that the President’s ARREST Agenda becomes a reality at all levels of our country’s development.”

He emphasized that the project reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring that every Liberian becomes part of the national development process by promoting food security, improving livelihoods and fostering sustainable growth in the agricultural sector.

Mr. Wennie also extended profound appreciation to Madame Lwopu G. Kandakai, Registrar General of the Cooperative Development Agency, for her exemplary leadership and unwavering support in implementing the CDA’s programs since her appointment by President Boakai.

The distribution exercise in Lofa marks another milestone in the government’s effort to revitalize Liberia’s agriculture through partnership, inclusion and cooperative empowerment, ensuring that no farmer is left behind.
