The Leadership of the House of Representatives (HoR) has summoned Mohammed Ali, popularly known as Mo Ali.
Mr. Ali is the managing director of the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC).
According to a release, he is to appear before its leadership of the House on Monday, June 30, 2025, to answer to charges of contempt.
Mr. Ali is being summoned for his failure to honor invitations from the House, an action viewed by the leadership as a “deliberate obstruction of legislative function.”
The House maintains that the refusal of public officials to respond to legislative summons undermines its constitutional mandate to provide oversight and hold government institutions accountable.
According to the press and public affairs, Mr. Ali is expected to show cause why he should not be held in contempt for his actions, which are considered a “breach of legislative protocol and disrespect to the authority of the House.”
Mo Ali’s appearance before the House is in keeping with that august body’s responsibility to ensure compliance with the laws and uphold the integrity of the Legislature in the discharge of its duties.
