S๐๐ง๐๐ญ๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ ๐๐ข๐ฆ๐๐ ๐๐๐ช๐ฎ๐๐ฌ๐ญ Senate Grants Nimba Request
The Liberian Senate has endorsed a request from the People of Nimba for the chair used by the
late Senator Prince Johnson to be placed in a museum in Sanniquellie, Nimba County, as a mark of respect. The request was made by the people of Nimba voiced through their Senator Nya Twayen Jr.ย appealing to the Senate to respectfully endorse their request. Pro Tempore Nyonblee Karnga Lawrence granted the request on behalf of the Senate and at the same time emphasizing the significance of giving the chair to theย people of Nimba. Subsequently, the Late Senator chair was officially removed from the Senateโs chamber by the Sergeant-at-Arms and will be taken to Nimba at a later date. At the same time, Senator Nya D. Twayen Jr. has officially taken the position of Late Senator Johnson in ranking as Nimba-1 within the Liberian Senate. Late Senator Prince Yormie Johnson was the longest serving senator and Doyen of the Liberian Senate having been elected in 2005 and went on to win three successful elections in the country’s historyโs.
