Colonel Elijah F. Rufus, one of the longest serving Chief of Office Staff to the office of the Commissioner General at the Liberia Immigration Service ( LIS)  has been appointed to the position of Deputy Commissioner General for Administration ( U-301).  Colonel  Rufus has worked with the Liberia Immigration Service ( LIS) for over twenty consecutive years, climbing the rank and file  to a number of positions at the LIS.  Colonel Rufus’ task at the LIS was to assist the office of the Commissioner General ( U-300) in developing the institution’s policies, establishing and maintaining working relationship and channeling communications to other government agencies and ministries and diplomatic missions.  In 2010-2014, as Special Assistant to the office of the Commissioner General, he served as policy advisor, monitoring and supervising subordinate officers assigned at the Commissioner General office.
