Montserrado County District #10 Representative, Yekeh Kolubah, has accused the leadership of the House of Representatives.
Kolubah claimed the leadership failed to reach out to him following the death of his mother despite an official announcement posted in the House’s internal chatroom.
He told journalists that neither the Speaker, nor the Deputy Speaker, contacted him to express sympathy during his period of bereavement.
Kolubah alleged that the House leadership’s silence was influenced by a “mandate from the President.”
Rep. Kolubah, a long-standing critic of the current administration, said several figures from the opposition community, including former President George Weah, and former Vice President, Jewel Howard-Taylor, called to extend their condolences.
He admitted that a few members of the Executive Branch also reached out to him privately, but said the official leadership of the House remained silent.
In a related development, Rep. Kolubah said the district he represents has not received any portion of the funds earmarked for District #10.
He alleged that the government has deliberately withheld development financing for his constituency without any worthwhile reason.
He claimed that the refusal to release funds is “politically motivated and undermines efforts to deliver basic development to residents District #10.”
Rep. Kolubah promised to align himself with opposition forces to ensure that the Unity Party-led government becomes “history” by 2029, signaling a renewed push toward political confrontation as the country approaches the next election cycle.
