Women Caucus Condemns Ciannah Goe Murder

The Women Legislative Caucus of Liberia has condemns in the strongest terms, the alleged rape and brutal murder of the late Ciannah Goe, the horrific incident that reportedly took place at her newly constructed residence in Marshall, Margibi County.

The Caucus through its chair, Margibi County District #3 Representatives- Ellen Atton-Wreh, also expressed deep sorrow and outrage over the heinous act perpetrated against a female and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

” It is particularly tragic that the victim, a Liberian citizen who had recently returned home from Canada,  to met such an untimely and violent end; needs speedy investigation,” she maintained.

Rep. Atton-Wreh is at the same time urging the Liberia National Police (LNP) and all relevant authorities to expedite a thorough and impartial investigation into this matter, saying justice must be served not only to bring closure to the family but also to reaffirm the country’s commitment to protecting the lives and dignity of all women and girls across Liberia.

She however said this case also underscores the urgent need to strengthen efforts aimed at preventing sexual and gender-based violence, ensuring that perpetrators are held accountable, and creating a safer society for every Liberian, regardless of gender.

The Women Legislative Caucus said it remains committed to working with stakeholders across all sectors to ensure that no woman or girl lives in fear in their own home or community.
