I often ask patience to escort me as I begin my day’s hustle, especially at a time when humans have become heartless, disrespectful, selfish, uncultured and emotionally violent.
We Wish Author F. Shelton Gonkerwon the best as he unveils the golden face of “Dark Freedom”
Author Freeman Shelton Gonkerwon, who’s rising higher and higher in Liberia’s literary and historical space, unveils the golden face of his powerful book “Dark Freedom” today.
The event is scheduled at the YMCA Building on Crown Hill, Monrovia.
“Dark Freedom” provides the author’s stage by stage accounts of the Liberian civil war, as his contribution as far as contemporary history of the country is concerned.
The event is expected to bring together a distinguished gathering of Liberia’s cultural, literary, and media communities. Invitations have been extended to major media institutions, the Press Union of Liberia (PUL), the Union of Liberian Authors (ULA), the Liberian Association of Writers (LAW), as well as a wide range of government officials, diplomats, educators, and students.
The public is also encouraged to attend what organizers described as “a defining moment for Liberian storytelling.”
As Mr. Gonkerwon is set to unveil the golden face of this literary, and historical instrument to the world at large, we wish this struggling author, the best in this assignment given him by God, an assignment, which is making Liberia and Liberians proud; an assignment which should be embraced by all Liberians since it represents a huge contribution to the education sector.
The government, through the Ministry of Education, should and must, do all it can to promote the dream of this writer.
We expect government officials, including all making, specifically, those from Nimba County, the Vice President, students, teachers, scholars and researchers to not only attend this program, but to promote this beautiful work.
Bravo, author F. Shelton Gonkerwon! May God continues to bless the works of your hands as you continue to rise higher and higher in the world of writers.
