We Pray Against Police, Civilian Strained Relationship

ONE OF THE Para-military Arms of government is the police. It is clothed with the responsibility to protect lives and properties.

UNDER THE MINISTRY of Justice, this Para-military wing enforces law and order thereby providing and enhancing national security for the wellbeing of the nation and its people.

FOR THESE REASONS enumerated, government trains police officers at various levels to ensure peace and stability, providing guidance against violence at all times.

IT IS NO illusion, that the enhancement of civility and sanity in a sovereign nation bears fruits from the dedication and commitment of the police because safety remains a fulcrum that guarantees police-civilian social contract, such that life would always be protected.

HOWEVER, WE OFTEN witness standoffs between police officers and civilians, sometimes leading to fatal calamities against civilians or police personnel due to lack of common ground to resolve disagreements arising from arguments, defiance, provocations and other inimical acts unacceptable to the norms or ethics of law enforcement.

AS LAW- ABIDING citizens, what lures police and civilians into deepened conflicts needs a common sense of logic to arrest the impasse because strained relationship is a breeding ground for perpetual insecurity that needs not be condoned.

WE MUST LEARN to guide against provocation, transferred aggression, assault, fragrant violations of law and order, abuse of power and all other machineries that give rise to hooliganism and gangsters-oriented tendencies that spark lawlessness and ignite violence and undermine peace and security.

THEREFORE, WE PRAY against police, civilians’ strained relationship because the aftermaths or consequences of such unhealthy relationship do not foster mutual respect for one another in society.
