USAID Commends Stronger Anti-Corruption Efforts

The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) on Tuesday, April 29, welcomed a high-level delegation from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) at its headquarters in Monrovia.

The ceremony was to close a meeting that marked the end of its mission in the country and continued partnership in the fight against corruption.

The USAID team was led by Mission Director Jim Wright and Angelina Allen-Mpyisi.

During the meeting, a release said, the delegation reaffirmed USAID’s support for the Commission’s mandate and commended the LACC for its ongoing efforts to promote transparency, integrity and accountability across the country.

Meanwhile, Mr. Wright has encouraged the Commission to maintain its momentum in holding individuals accountable through prosecution.

He noted that visible action builds public confidence and sends a strong message that the LACC is working for the Liberian people.

In a significant gesture of support, USAID donated laptops, office furniture and a vehicle to the Commission to strengthen its operational capacity.

The LACC extends sincere gratitude to USAID for its continued partnership and remains committed to advancing its mission to combat corruption and uphold the public trust.
