A resident of Urey Village, John Urey, has raised concerns about the nature and impact of a recent community structure reportedly constructed in the area, and linked by locals to Bong County District #4 Lawmaker, Robert Flomo Womba.
Urey, who spoke directly to the villagers, said, many residents are questioning whether the project reflects the urgent development needs of the community, especially in the face of broader challenges affecting the district.
Citizens, Urey said, continue to struggle with poor road conditions, limited access to health services, and inadequate educational facilities, issues he believes require more substantial and visible intervention.
“What we are seeing here is not what people expected. People are suffering, and when they see a small structure like this, they begin to wonder whether their real problems are being addressed.”
Urey said, while any development effort is welcomed, the scale and timing of projects are becoming a point of debate among residents who feel left behind.
He also noted that many citizens in the village and surrounding communities have called for stronger focus on infrastructure that directly improves daily living conditions.
“People need roads, clinics, and schools that work. That is what development should feel like. Right now, many of us do not feel that impact.”
Urey also called for improved communication between elected officials and citizens, saying: “clarity on development plans would help reduce growing frustration within communities.”
However, there has been no official response from Rep. Womba regarding the concerns the locals raised.
