The administration of the University of Liberia (UL) sys contrary to a widespread social media post circulated over the weekend that the UL is poised to drop 8,000 students, “because they allegedly enrolled fraudulently.”
The university administration categorically dismisses this news as “fake news,” says it lacks any iota of truth or veracity.
Through the UL relations, the institution maintains that the social media post is simply intended to undermine the university, upset students and stakeholders, cause chaos, and unnecessary distraction among students, who are currently writing final exams.
The UL administration, therefore, encourages students to remain focused on academics and, in case of any doubt, refer and revert to the UL’s official channels for any information about the institution.
“It was against this backdrop as well as to provide factual information, the Vice President for UL Relations, Norris L. Tweah, said in a release.
The UL administration, meanwhile, urges students and the public to remain calm and only rely on information shared through the UL official communications channels, including the UL website, facebook page, and Lux Radio for factual information concerning the university.
