Transport System Disrupted In Pleebo

By Aaron B. Nemah

Transportation in Pleebo, Maryland County, has been disrupted.

The reason, taxi and mini-bus drivers’ expressed frustration over a student bus program, which they said, has affected their livelihoods.

The buses, reportedly donated by Representative Anthony Williams, provide daily transport for students traveling between Pleebo and Harper at a cost of L$50 per trip.

While the initiative is intended to ease transportation challenges for students, commercial drivers claimed the new gesture has slackened their income.

“With students now relying on these buses, we are losing our regular customers,” a source familiar with the situation said.

Drivers claimed the low fare makes it nearly impossible for them to compete, prompting ‘a go-slow action.’

The protest has already impacted movement in Pleebo, leaving many commuters facing delays.

Drivers’ union representatives in the area are yet to speak to the impasse.
