Tension has reportedly risen in parts of Sasstown District, Grand Kru County, following a land dispute between residents of Bolloh and Sasstown that allegedly led to gunfire and a temporary roadblock in the area.

According to a report from local authorities, the incident was brought to attention around 4:00 p.m. on March 8, 2026, when Sasstown District Superintendent Washington M. Sackor placed a phone call informing security personnel about the dispute unfolding in Wessah Bush, near River Noh in Upper Sasstown.

The Superintendent reported that individuals believed to be from Bolloh were allegedly discharging firearms during the confrontation, escalating tensions between the two communities over the contested land.

Responding to the report, security officers moved to the area along with their team to restore calm.

Upon arrival in Wessah, the officers encountered a roadblock set up by residents, who expressed frustration over what they described as the county authorities’ failure to address the long-standing land dispute between Bolloh and Sasstown.

The security team was able to clear the roadblock and restore movement along the route before proceeding further into Wessah Bush, where the conflict had reportedly taken place.

While examining the scene, officers recovered three empty gun shells, indicating that shots had indeed been fired during the confrontation.

Accordingly, no injuries or fatalities were immediately confirmed at the time of the report.

Authorities say the situation is currently under investigation, as they seek to establish the circumstances surrounding the gunfire and find a lasting solution to the land dispute between the two communities.
