Supt. Toe Donates To M/Land Sport

Maryland County Superintendent Nathaniel Toe, Jr. has donated a consignment of sporting equipment to the county sports and athletic commission (MSAC).

The donation is part of early preparations for the 2026/2027 National County Sports Meet (NCSM).

The official turnover took place on Friday, July 4, in Harper.

The donated items included footballs, jerseys, training bibs, cones, football boots, gloves, and other materials needed to begin training and talent identification.

At the ceremony, Supt. Toe said, the donation fulfills a pledge he made shortly the senate confirmed him.

“When I assumed office, I consulted with Marylanders in Monrovia and other stakeholders. We collectively procured adequate sporting materials to improve our participation in the NCSM.”

Toe stressed the need for early preparation, which he said, is key to build a competitive team that can represent the county with pride. 

“By providing these materials now, we are giving coaches and MSAC the opportunity to identify and develop talents from every district and community.”

Supt, Toe has meanwhile, encouraged young athletes to use the opportunity wisely.

“I urge our young people to join district leagues, prepare seriously for the selection process, and maintain discipline throughout training.”

Toe reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to youth development through sports, which he described as a vital tool to promote unity, discipline, healthy living, and create opportunities for young people.

Officials of MSAC received the consignment and thanked the Supt. Toe for the timely support.

The NCSM is the country’s biggest annual inter-county sporting event, and Maryland County, has moved to ensure it fields a stronger team in the 2026/2027 edition.
