President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, has named Ambassador Jeremiah C. Sulunteh, as the new chairman of the Board of Trustees at Bong County University.
If confirmed, Sulunteh will replace Charles Mulbah.
The presidential pronouncement was made Thursday, April 23, in a statement the Executive Mansion issued as part of a wider restructuring affecting boards and administrative bodies in several public institutions.
By his appointment, Amb. Sulunteh brings decades of experience in public service to the institution.
He previously served as Liberia’s ambassador to the United States, and held the position of Minister of Transport, including other senior governmental roles.
Sulunteh is recognized for his extensive background in governance, public administration, and international relations.
His appointment comes at a time when the Bong County University is expanding its academic offerings and reinforcing its governance framework.
Established to broaden access to higher education in central Liberia, the institution serves students from the county and neighboring regions, offering programs in education, agriculture, health sciences, engineering, information technology, as well as business and public administration.
Meanwhile, the outgoing board chairman. Dr. Mulbah, has been reassigned to the Board of Directors of the Central Agricultural Research Institute (CARI), according to a release.
The Executive Mansion noted that these appointments are part of Pres. Boakai’s broader efforts to strengthen governance and enhance performance in public institutions.
