Liberian Women in Dialogue for Change (LiWIDC) has launched a Women Empowerment Life Skills Training Program that involved soap making.

The exercise is introduced in collaboration with the Christian Women Transformation Initiative to enhance women’s economic independence and improve their livelihoods.

Over 25 women participated in the day-long training, learning to produce liquid soap, chlorine, and other household products.

The hands-on sessions were designed to provide income-generating skills.

The Organization’s Chief Executive Officer Betti J. Sambola said, the program long-term strategy is to strengthen women capacity in various sectors, with plans to expand support to farming, technology, and other essential skills.

Mrs. Sambola further noted that the institution vision is to ensure that women are empowered through diverse opportunities.

She said, the initiative is inclusive, benefiting not only women, but people living with disabilities, including their male counterpart, thereby promoting equal access to empowerment programs.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude and pledged to apply their new skills, working closely with LiWIDC to maximize benefits.

The initiative promotes women empowerment, inclusivity, and community development in Grand Kru County.

Regina Walker, the County Gender Coordinator, commended the efforts of Women in Dialogue for Change for their decision to focus on Grand Kru.

Mrs. Walker highlighted the importance of equipping women with practical skills to foster self-reliance and empowerment.

She urged women in the county to seize the opportunity to become productive members of their households, and influential contributors to society as a whole.
