Vice President Jeremiah KpanKoung has officially commissioned SKYE Petroleum Inc., a newly established modern petroleum company, calling the investment a significant step toward job creation and the expansion of economic opportunities for Liberians.
In his address at the commissioning ceremony in Monrovia over the weekend, Vice President Koung commended the company’s management for their commitment to investing in Liberia, particularly as the nation seeks increased private sector participation to enhance employment and foster national development.
Koung stated that the establishment of SKYE Petroleum Inc. will not only deliver quality petroleum services but will also unlock opportunities for ordinary Liberians through job creation and other economic benefits.
“This investment is aimed at creating jobs for our people, providing essential services, and contributing to the growth of our country,” he affirmed during his address.
The Vice President highlighted that in addition to creating employment opportunities, the company’s modern, well-furnished facility enhances the aesthetic value of the city, particularly in the capital.
He underscored the importance of increased investment for Liberia’s economic recovery and development, noting that the success of businesses like SKYE Petroleum Inc. could significantly bolster the nation’s economy.
“If five to ten investors commit to Liberia like this, our country will improve, and that is what we aspire for our people,” the Vice President remarked.
Koung reiterated the Liberian government’s dedication to collaborating closely with investors and business owners to strengthen the economy and elevate the living standards of citizens.
The commissioning of SKYE Petroleum Inc. represents a vital addition to Liberia’s expanding private sector, with expectations that the company will play a meaningful role in employment and service delivery within the petroleum industry.
