Senator Gbehzohngar Findley has clarified recent bribery accusations targeting members of the Grand Bassa Legislative Caucus.
Findley is the chairman of the Bassa Caucus. He plied the claims “ridiculous” and “a joke.”
He dismissed allegations that the county could be swayed by a bribe as small as US$100,000, especially when dealing with a multi-million-dollar deal involving iron ore tailing.
In a heated public statement, Findley remarked: “We’re talking about an investment worth over US$400 million, and someone is suggesting that a mere US$100k could sway seven members of the Bassa Legislative Caucus. “That is not just ridiculous, but a mere insult to members of the caucus.”
Findley, visibly frustrated, also criticized the spread of false rumors, taking aim at those he accused of misleading the public.
“It is sad that people who have refused to go to school sit back and make these absurd claims,” he added.
Findley, however, remains unwavering in his stance, insisting that the suggestion of bribery is not only baseless, but offensive to the seriousness of the ongoing US$400 million investment. Source: Wroibee EltonTiah/ Ablee-jay TV
