Sen. Snowe Again: Accused of Financing Protests

In the wake of his already sour ties with the government, Bomi County Senator Edwin Melvin Snowe has suffered accusation of underground support to the planers of the ‘July 17’ protestors.

Snowe quickly denounced the claim, saying: Let those making such claims “go to hell!!”

He was accused of financing the planned reported “nationwide protests,” on July 17, 2025, amid an increasingly sour relationship with the government.

In an exclusive interview with Dnnews Liberia, outspoken government supporter Ma Noah Gotolo, popularly known as “Boakai Da Baby,” alleged that Senator Snowe was channeling funds reportedly sourced through his position as Deputy Speaker of ECOWAS to support yesterday’s protest actions.

Gotolo further called for the senator’s recall from his ECOWAS post, accusing him of working against the interests of the government.

When contacted, Sen Snowe said Madam Gotolo should “go to hell.”

He however, did not deny or confirm the allegation.

The relationship between Snowe and the government has grown tense in recent months, particularly after he made a controversial statement criticizing the administration’s failures.

The protests began yesterday across Monrovia, with demonstrators demanding legal reforms, lower living costs, justice, and action against corruption. DN News
