Maryland County Senator James P. Binney has reaffirmed government’s commitment to drive sustainable development, particularly in the Southeast.

At the recent LWSC groundbreaking ceremony for Pleebo’s first-ever pipe-borne water project, Binney assured residents that President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s administration remains focused on delivering tangibles in the Southeast.

“For too long, our people have been left behind. But today, things are changing. We are beginning to see the kind of development that connects the Southeast to the rest of the country.”

He highlighted several key projects currently underway, including the construction of the Cavalla River Bridge, which will strengthen cross-border trade and regional integration.

Binney also cited the judiciary complex in Harper, and the ongoing plans to expand similar water systems to Barclayville, Grand Kru County, and Fish Town in River Gee County.

“If you can hear and see the progress being made, you’ll know that the country is moving in the right direction,” Sen. Binney added.

He commended LWSC for responding to the water challenges faced by Pleebo residents. He meanwhile urged the community to take ownership of the project to ensure its sustainability.
