Scammer Of Chief Justice Gbeisay’s Social Media Account Identified

A man identified as Emmanuel Whapoe has been linked to the misuse of Chief Justice, His Honor Yarmie Quiqui  Gbeisay’s  social media account  to solicit funds from individuals under false pretense  to  celebrate his  (Chief Justice) birthday.

The Office of the Chief Justice which made the revelation in Monrovia Tuesday, January 27, 2026, described such act as criminal, emphasizing that at no time has the Chief Justice authorized Mr. Whapoe to use his social media account to solicit funds from individuals for any birthday celebration.

“It is unacceptable and disgusting that Mr. Whapoe would choose to use the facebook account of the Chief Justice to solicit funds from individuals for his personal benefit under the pretense of birthday celebration in favor of the Chief Justice,” the Office of the Chief Justice has indicated.

The Office has further warned Mr. Whapoe to immediately desist from such malicious and immoral behavior, noting, “The Chief Justice does not condone criminality; therefore  his office will not relent to pursue Mr. Whapoe if he continues to exhibit this illegal attitude.”

Quoting the penal law of Liberia, the Office said:  “In accordance with the penal law title 26 of Liberian codes revised , it states that  misusing another person’s  name to solicit especially for obtaining money or benefits,  is criminally prosecuted in Liberia as forgery or fraud.”

The Office then condemned the criminal behavior in the strongest terms for the misuse of the Chief Justice social media account to deceive and solicit funds from individuals in society.

The Office, at the same time, has cautioned the public to be mindful of people using the name of the Chief Justice for personal interests and benefits, as in the case of Mr. Whapoe.

The Office also called on the public to always seek confirmation or clarity whenever people claim to perform any task on behalf of the Chief Justice, stressing that nowadays, there are scammers roaming to hoodwink people for self-interest.
