Saah Joseph ‘Fires’ CDC

----“We Need A Party Not Owned By One Man’’

“. . . we need a political party that is not owned by a single individual, but one that belongs to everyone.”

Montserrado County Senator Saah H. Joseph, has publicly taken aim at the former ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), denouncing the party structured around Mr. George Weah.

Sen. Joseph has meanwhile, called for a new kind of political movement -one not controlled by a single individual, but an institutionalized party.

Joseph’s suggestion came shortly he crossed-carpet from the opposition CDC and founded his own political party, the People’s Action Party (PAP).

In his capacity as the political leader or a self-declared standard bearer of the PAP, Sen. Joseph revealed how the party has already made a US$100,000 down payment through him to purchase its own national headquarters.

“We are buying our own place. We don’t want to spend 20 years somewhere as party headquarters, then people take it from us,” he said, referencing the dramatic fall of the sycamore tree, which symbolically represents the CDC.

Many of his former political cronies, sharply reacted to his statement, saying: “this is a direct shot at his former political home, the CDC and Mr. Weah.”

“People have called me, and asked that I refrain from speaking, but when you mention my name, I will respond,” Joseph stated.

“I promised the people of Liberia that I would speak the truth, nothing but the truth. We need a political party that is not owned by a single individual, but one that belongs to everyone.”

While claiming PAP is not out to fight or criticize, Joseph made it clear that the party stands for change, transparency and collective ownership. Source: Wroinbee Elton Tiah/ Ablee-Jay TV
