The maxim, “education is the bedrock of every developed nation,” has again come under spotlight in Timbo District, River-Cess County.
In the county, Jallah B. Sumolu, Principal of the Hope Christian Community Academy, is seeking government’s support to enable the youth get the needed education they deserved to face future challenges.
The School is one of the two junior high schools in the district that are impacting meaningful knowledge to the school-going ages.
Mr. Sumolu, in a recent exclusive interview with this newspaper, narrated the challenges they (educators) go through to provide knowledge to the youths.
He said, the lack of proper support is hampering their work as educators in the part of the country.
He also named lack of proper educational materials, teachers and most of all, school feeding program, which he said, usually encourage rural students to create interest and focused.
“The school was established in 2010 by a humanitarian, who is also a son of the soil, with the sole purpose of bringing light to the community.
The school that intends to buttress government’s efforts to provide quality education to the young people, now stands in need of help, because the founder cannot do all by himself.
Sumolu: “Currently, the school is one of the two junior high schools in Timbo District, and the administration is hoping that this school reach senior high level to curtail some challenges students go through in seeking senior high education. We also need supports from the government and NGO to enable us provide the requisites education.”
He also disclosed that since the school was established in 2010, it has empowered men and women, who are contributing and producing fruitful results in the county’s education sector.
