Security personnel assigned at the Roberts International Airport (RIA) have arrested a man that was reportedly attempting to access the airside of the airport.
A release issued by the Liberia Airport Authority (LAA) said, the incident occurred on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at 3: a.m., when the suspect, known as Neakardo Daykar, was seen trying to breach the airport’s perimeter fencing along the airside.
Alert guards, who were stationed throughout the facility, noticed the individual’s suspicious activity and promptly intervened.
Suspect Daykar had along with him his passport, valid national identification card, phone and an enclosed bag.
LAA Security Department later turned over Suspect Daykar to the Liberia National Police for further investigation.
Meanwhile, the LAA issued a stern warning to the public, urging them to cease any attempt to illegally access restricted areas of the Airport.
The LAA emphasized that unauthorized entry into restricted areas poses significant risks, including potential threats to aviation safety and security.
The LAA Management reminded the public that such actions are considered criminal offenses and will be met with the full force of the law.
“The LAA takes security breach seriously and is committed to upholding the highest standards of safety. As such, the public is cautioned from engaging in or attempting to facilitate illegal entry into restricted areas around or within the premises of the Airport. Any such actions will be met with the full force of the law’’, LAA added.
