Rep. Massaly Allots L$1M To District Agri. Initiatives

As agriculture being one of the surest way to improving the live of the ordinary people,

Grand Cape Mont County District #1 Representative, Bintu Massaly, over the weekend, allotted over L$1 million to the people of the district.

Rep. Massaly said, the money is aimed at boosting food security, and economic growth in the district. She said, her decision to invest in the agriculture sector, is not just an ordinary venture, but a promising future to transform the agricultural landscape of Grand CapeMount County, specifically, District #1.

 Rep. Massaly: “The project also aims at empowering farmers, and to enhance farming practices in 12 other villages.

Five of the villages are: Patrick, London, Jiejuwa, Bambala, and Mano River Kongo villages.

Shortly after the presentation of the money, Rep. Massaly, expressed sincere appreciation for the engagement, and dedication shown by the community dwellers.

“Your participation is a testament to our shared vision for a prosperous Grand Cape Mount County. Together, we can transform our landscapes; improve our livelihoods, and ensure food security for our families.”

She added: “This agricultural initiative is designed to equip you, the farmers with the tools and resources that are needed to improve productivity and sustainability. We believe that the funding will also be used to provide training sessions, upgrade irrigation systems, and facilitate access to quality seeds and farming equipment.” She informed the gathering that the project is not just about financial investment; but fostering a culture of self-reliance, and innovation in agriculture.

Alongside the agriculture project, Rep. Massaly also announced the launch of a ‘free vacation school’ for the youth, noting that the school will offer courses in agriculture, entrepreneurship, and vocational training that will equip the next generation with the skills necessary to thrive in a modern economy.  The launch was held in Bambala for three days. It brought together participants from villages in the district, who discussed sustainable farming techniques, share their challenges, and explore collaboration opportunities.

Meanwhile, residents from the surrounding towns and villages, expressed their desire to join the initiative.

They underscored their respective community dedication to revitalize agriculture.
