There are report that the 2023 Campaign Chairman for Representative Eugene J.M. Kollie, has abandoned the post, thus parting company with the lawmaker.
Disappointingly, Mr. Emmanuel Motenma is said to have also relocated his residence from the district.
Whether the information is true or not, a storm of criticism is brewing in Gweatamue Community when news spread about Mr. Motenma’s relocation to avoid discussing any political activity to would surround Rep. Kollie.
But before running from the district, Motenma publicly denounced the Bong County District #5 Lawmaker for “total abandonment, and betrayal” of his own campaign team and constituents.
While addressing a team of reporters in Gweatamue, Motenma said Rep. Kollie has turned his back on the very community that secured his victory during the 2023 elections.
“Kollie used me to mobilize our people during the elections. We worked tirelessly to make him win, but since he took office, he has not returned; not even to say thank you,” Motenma said in a frustrated tone.
He said Rep. Kollie made several campaigns promises, including the construction of a school in Jorka-la Town, the rehabilitation of key community roads, and the initiation of local development projects meant to improve living conditions in Gweatamue.
“Those promises were never fulfilled. In fact, we cannot even reach to him, either by phone calls or personal visits anymore. He ignores our calls and messages. All our efforts to meet him personally have proven useless,” Motenmba claimed.
He described Rep. Kollie’s attitude as “disrespectful and unappreciative.”
Mr. Motenma recalled how residents now feel completely forgotten by a man they trusted with their votes and hopes.
Motenma promised never to encourage the people of Gweatamue to remain silent.
He added: “If this neglect continues, we will ensure that Rep. Kollie is retired from active politics by 2029. Our people deserve better than empty promises.”
As of press time late Monday evening, multiple calls and text messages sent to Rep. Kollie went unanswered, deepening public suspicion that the lawmaker may have distanced himself from his campaign allies and constituents.
The growing discontent in Gweatamue adds to a chorus of voices questioning Rep. Kollie’s style of leadership, and his commitment to the people, who once stood with him in the sun and rain.
