The political leader of the Liberia People’s Party ( LPP), Cllr. Taiwan Saye Gonglo, has urged President Joseph Nyuma Boakai to issue an Executive Order to eliminate financial barriers that hinder students from pursuing higher education, emphasizing that education should not be a privilege but a right.

Serving as Keynote Speaker at the commencement exercise of the Rudolph Kwanue University College (RKUC), Cllr.  Gonglo underscored the need for a robust education system to address the challenges facing the nation.

He remarked, “Education empowers citizens to actively participate in governance, understand their rights, and uphold the rule of law.”

Cllr. Gongloe said a well-informed society is better positioned to grow economically and socially.

The LPP political leader said it is now time to break the barriers to education that many families face as he begins to champion the call for the government to take immediate action to ensure accessibility to quality education for all children.

The graduates were reminded of their responsibilities as the next generation of leaders. “You carry with you the hopes and expectations of your families and communities. Your knowledge, energy, and vision are crucial for transforming our nation through education, innovation, and leadership,” Cllr. Gongloe urged. He then extolled the graduates to move forward with determination and purpose, reinforcing the idea that their education is not just a personal milestone but a vital contribution to the future of Liberia. “Let us strive for a new era in our country where every child has the opportunity to complete their education, where education is seen as a right, and where informed citizens can contribute to a peaceful and prosperous society,” he stated.

The RKUC University College graduation ceremony not only celebrated the achievements of its graduates, but also served as a rallying call for the nation to prioritize education as a pivotal element in its development.

The Founder and President of RKUC Professor, Dr, Rudolph Q. Kwanue, Sr., PhD, highlighted the importance of education stating, “Today, we gather not just to celebrate academic achievement but to recognize that education is the cornerstone of national development.

Education is a strong foundation for national transformation. It is through education that we can build a prosperous future for Liberia.”
