PUC Elects New Leaders

The People United Community (PUC) in Paynesville, outside Monrovia, over the weekend elected a new corps of youthful officials to stir the affairs of the community for the next two years (2025-2027.

The elected officials were subsequently inducted to the delight of onlookers.

Following his official induction, the Executive Youth Chairman, Korvah Garbah assured the young people of the PUC that their decision to elect him was not a mistake.

Mr. Garbah outlined his priorities, beginning with security, which he underscored the need to install streetlights in major areas of the community to help reduce crime.

On sanitation, he promised to organize a robust system that will ensure a clean and healthy environment, working in collaboration with the executive chairman to establish a systematic approach involving all the residents.

As of the road conditions, Mr. Garbah acknowledged the challenges faced by the past leaders in making the community roads accessible, but cited funding constraints.

He pledged to work with partners to address these issues and improve road accessibility.

On youth empowerment, he highlighted plans to create better opportunities for the young people.

Carbah meanwhile, expressed his readiness to work with local NGOs to provide environment that will build youth capacities by channeling young people’s energy into productive ventures.

Mr. Garbah also welcomed constructive criticisms, but urged everyone to come together in a spirit of unity and reconciliation to better the lives of the residents.

He expressed deep appreciation for the trust and confidence the community reposed in him, thereby promising to lead with integrity, transparency, and a commitment to positive change.
