Protesters Give Gov’t 14 Days

The much publicized “Enough is Enough” protest ended with the organizers releasing the number of counts for the government to address.

The protesters earlier Thursday march from different locations under the daylong rain, holding placards and singing anti=government slogans.

They eventually converged at the grounds of the Capitol Building, where they read the statement.

Among other things,  they named top entities and officials of government, who  they claimed are linked to corruption, including their immediate prosecution,

Of the counts, they called for the creation of jobs for the young people,  the release of “unlawful restrictions on the movement of motorbikes and tricycles from plying the  main streets.

The protesters, through their statement, also want an end to the “political witch- hunt” as well as the dismissal of police Inspector General Gregory Coleman.

 Protesters also called for an independent investigation into allegations linking speaker Richard Nagbe Koon.

Moreover, they called for an end to “police brutality and corruption.”

The protest was conducted in a relatively  “peaceful” manner.

However, few people were reportedly wounded while a few minutes of violence took place when Lofa County Senator Momo Cyrus went to receive the petition statement on behalf of the Senate .

Meanwhile, the organizers  gave the government 14 days to address their long worded petition.
