Prosecution First Witness Testify In Miss Kindness Case By Yassah J Wright

In a disorderly conduct case involving Kindness Wilson, Miss Liberia First Runner-Up, the prosecution on Tuesday presented its first witness, Jumel Cox, who testimony implicated the defendant to violently slapping and physically assaulted her (the complainant.)

 

In her testimony at the Monrovia City Court, witness Cox said, the incident happened on March 31, on the campus of Stella Maris Polytechnic University, located on 1st Street in Sinkor, Monrovia.

Defendant Wilson faced charges of disorderly conduct, simple assault and menacing, after allegedly slapping Cox, which   incident went viral on the social media.

She said that she and the defendant was involved in an altercation during which Wilson slapped her.

“I was shocked and I felt humiliated when Kindness slapped me,” witness Cox said.

According to her, when the incident occurred, she immediately called her mother and informed her.

Later, she said, her mother advised her to report the matter to the police.

“I came directly to Police Central as I was instructed to report the incident,” she testified.

She told the court that since the incident, she has been stressed and has been hidden from the public ‘since

I was also experiencing some traumatic events.’

Before her testimony, Defendant Wilson had denied the charges against her, when it was read to her in the courtroom.
