Authorities at the Liberia National Police (LNP) said, they have officially dismissed Patrolmen Edwin T. Ceasar and Stephen B. Wanawon.
The two were assigned with the Police Support Unit (PSU). They were dismissed for “criminal misconduct, abuse of authority and unsatisfactory conduct.”
“This action, LNP said, follows a comprehensive internal administrative investigation conducted by the Professional Standards Department, which established that both officers violated the Administrative Instructions on Discipline and Professional Standards as well as the Discipline Regulations of 2016.”
According to a release, “in keeping with the LNP commitment to integrity, accountability, and the rule of law, the officers have been removed from active duty and turned over to the Criminal Service Department for further investigation and prosecution.”
The LNP said, it remains resolute in its mission to serve the public with neutrality, professionalism, and respect for human rights. Disciplinary actions such as these reflect our ongoing efforts to uphold the highest standards of conduct and restore public trust in law enforcement.
“We thank the public for its continued cooperation and support as we work together to build a safer and more just Liberia.”
