The opposition People’s Action Party (PAP) has officially announced the holding of its first national convention.
The party said, the event is being scheduled from March 27 to 29, 2026, in Bentol City, Montserrado County.
The convention will be held under the theme: “Action for the People,” marking a milestone for the party as it seeks to solidify its role in Liberia’s democratic landscape.
Founded by a coalition of citizens devoted to fostering integrity, unity and progress, PAP has emerged as a prominent voice advocating for transparent governance, equal opportunities, and sustainable development.
The party’s grassroots origins have enabled it to resonate with a broad spectrum of Liberians, uniting individuals from diverse backgrounds under a common vision of national prosperity.
“The upcoming National Convention signifies a pivotal moment in the growth and institutional development of the Party,” stated the Publicity and Program Committee in a press release.
The party in a press release stated that delegates from all parts of the country, and the diaspora are expected to discuss key national issues; adopt vital party policies, and enhance the organizational structure of the PAP as it prepares to engage meaningfully in the democratic process.
The convention will also serve as a platform for party members and stakeholders to reflect on their achievements, reaffirm their commitment to Liberians, and outline a strategic direction for responsible leadership and national transformation moving forward.
PAP has meanwhile, extended an open invitation to its members, partners, civil society organizations, legislators, political party leaders, and media representatives to participate in this significant event.
The party stressed the importance of collective efforts in building a united, transparent, and prosperous Liberia.
