At least 38 cadets in Grand Kru County have undergone a two-day training program aimed at strengthening discipline, leadership, and workplace readiness among young people in the county.

The training took place at the Barclayville City Hall, and officially opened on Friday with participants drawn from different communities across Grand Kru. The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to empower youth through skills development and civic engagement.

Speaking during the opening ceremony, Grand Kru County Development Officer, Joe Sekpeh, representing county authorities, applauded the Government of Liberia and the Ministry of Youth and Sports for supporting youth-focused programs in the county.

He urged participants to remain focused and use the training as a stepping stone toward future employment opportunities.

Sekpeh noted that discipline, commitment, and professionalism remain essential qualities for young people seeking success in today’s competitive environment.

Lead facilitator Philip Keybor, in his opening presentation, trained participants on listening skills and workplace ethics, stressing the importance of effective communication, respect, and teamwork in professional settings.

Participants were expected to engage in several interactive learning activities throughout the duration of the program as organizers sought to prepare them for greater responsibilities in society and the job market.

The training continued with more sessions expected to focus on personal development, service, and leadership.
