“Our lives In Danger” -Dismissed MCC Workers Claim

Dismissed employees of the Monrovia City Corporation have expressed serious frustration and disappointment over their dismissal terming it as illegal. Recently the Monrovia City Corporation dismissed 9 employees for allegedly insulting President Joseph Boakai and other state officials, mostly supporters of the CDC. Addressing a press conference Wednesday in Monrovia, the former employees said at no time they insulted the President of Liberia in any form or manner. The former MCC employees stated that since their dismissal letters accused them of abusing and threatening the life of the President of Liberia, they and families’ lives have been in danger . According to them, they no longer walk, talk or sleep at home freely due to alleged threats from supporters of the President. The former MCC employees used the medium to call on peace builders, the international community, religious leaders and well meaning Liberians to intervene.
