Police Sends Bishop’s Wife To Court

The defendant is a legal wife of a clergyman, Hilary Paul, a bishop of the Open Bible Standard Church, located in Sinkor, Old Road Community.

Due to the rowdy behaviors of some women nowadays, especially wives of self-named clergies have landed one in trouble with the law.

For that reason, authorities of the Liberia National Police (LNP) have with immediate effect, charged Mrs. Klady A. Paul, a 67-year-old classroom teacher, for assaulting a police officer while he was performing his national duty.

The defendant is a legal wife of a clergyman, identified as Bishop Hilary Paul of the Open Bible Standard Church, located in Sinkor, Old Road Community.

On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at approximately 7:15 a.m., Mrs. Paul reportedly approached Patrolman Koilous N. Larmin, at the 12th Street, Sinkor intersection in a “hostile and disruptive manner.”

 The defendant, a “mother” of the Open Bible Standard Church, “verbally attacked the officer and other personnel on duty, then escalated her behavior into physical aggression, assaulting Patrolman Larmin.”

She’s said of have also damaged a government-issued police communication gadget assigned with the police.

Following a full investigation, Mrs. Paul has been charged with multiple crimes, including simple assault, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. The charges are under the Penal Code of the Republic.

She has been forwarded to court for prosecution, then police said in a release.

The LNP said, it has always upheld the principle of accountability, taking swift action when officers fall short of their duties or violate public trust.

“But just as we hold our officers accountable, we are equally bound to protect them when they are unjustly attacked while serving the nation,” LNP.

“We commend Patrolman Larmin for his resilience, professionalism, and restraint during the incident. His ability to maintain composure under pressure reflects the values and discipline expected of every officer in uniform, and is a clear indication of improvement in law-enforcement service delivery.

This case sends a clear message: there is zero tolerance for any form of assault, disrespect, or obstruction directed at officers in uniform. The law will be enforced without fear or favor.”
