Prophet Key, a controversial social media podcaster and Vice President, Jeremiah Kpan Koung, have virtually fallen apart at a campaign rally in Nimba County, a report said.
The self-classified Prophet Key, who gained notoriety through invectives, saying words are meant to be used, has described the Mandingoes at a campaign rally in support of Representative Samuel G. Kogar, “as people without common sense, among other things.”
Over such a campaign statement against the Mandingoes tribe in Nimba County, the Vice President, Jeremiah Kpan Koung, categorically distanced himself and his office from such statement against the Mandingoes in the county.
The Vice President, whose previous trade name was ‘Prophet,’ quickly took to the podium, being visibly disturbed, but such a statement from a ‘Prophet,’ said: “following our campaign launch in Saclepea yesterday, I came across a video on social media this morning in which ‘Prophet Key’ made a deeply troubling statement against the Mandingo community in Nimba. I strongly condemn this statement, because it does not reflect my values or the spirit of our campaign messages of peace and unity.”
He added: “My advocacy for a balanced distribution of power in Nimba is being rooted in traditional values and mutual respect among our people. Since the elections of Senator Nyan D. Twayen, Jr. and our late political godfather in 2023 and 2024, the debate concerning the so-called division of the county as a result of one tribe serving in the senate has subsided to the extent that our people are now living in relative harmony.”
According to the VP, preserving this atmosphere of peace and unity is important for the continued progress of our county.
He said, to continue the peace path characterized by development agenda, the government in collaboration with friendly partners is making genuine efforts to address the longstanding land disputes among families in the county, particularly in Ganta, the county’s commercial hub.
“If anyone has an issue with a particular individual, that issue should be confronted on a personal basis, rather than casting blame on an entire group of people,” the VP said.
“Finally, I wish to sincerely thank the Nimba Mandingo Association (NICOMA) for their public endorsement of Rep. Kogar during yesterday’s event in Saclepea. Your trust and support are deeply appreciated and will serve as a strong reminder that our future is brighter when we stand together.”
