NRF Records US$31M Revenue

The National Road Fund (NRF), is now the “best-performing government entity in implementing audit recommendations,” the General Auditing Commission (GAC) 2025 compliance report, has confirmed.

GAC also announced that NRF recorded US$31 million in revenue generation.

The GAC report shows that the NRF achieved a 93 percent implementation rate of audit recommendations, placing it first among government institutions assessed.

The Liberia Maritime Authority (LMA) followed with 91 percent, while the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) ranked third with a 90 percent compliance rate.

The strong audit performance of the NRF coincides with a major financial milestone. Liberia’s road sector recorded its highest-ever annual revenue as the NRF generated US$31 million, an achievement announced during the opening of the 22nd General Assembly of the African Road Maintenance Funds Association (ARMFA) in November, 2025, Liberia.

NRF Manager Joseta Neufville Wento, described the revenue milestone as the highest in the fund’s history, noting that it reflects renewed commitment to road development, accountability, and transparency.

However, GAC stated that the level of compliance demonstrated by leading institutions such as the NRF highlights the positive impact of acting on audit findings, particularly in strengthening financial management systems and public sector governance.

While commending the top-performing entities, the GAC also urged other ministries, agencies, and commissions with lower implementation rates to accelerate efforts to address outstanding audit recommendations. The Commission escribed full compliance as essential to reduce waste, improving service delivery, and ensuring prudent management of public resources.

The 2025 audit compliance assessment forms part of the GAC ongoing efforts to promote transparency and accountability in public sector.
