The Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Benjamin Kaluon has reaffirmed his country’s Parliament commitment to strengthening legislative ties with Liberia’s Legislature.
Speaking on behalf of the Speaker of the Nigerian Parliament during the officially welcoming program of the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Liberia, Richard Nagbe Koon, and his Legislative Delegation for a day-long working visit to the Parliament of Nigeria, the Deputy Speaker of Nigeria congratulated Speaker Koon on his recent election and expressed the willingness of the Nigerian Parliament to collaborate with the Liberian House of Representatives on matters of mutual interest.
During the visit, the Liberian delegation was taken on a guided tour of the Nigerian Parliament and other historic landmarks of national significance.
In his remarks while addressing the Nigerian lawmakers in their chambers, Speaker Koon expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality and acknowledged the strong historical ties between Liberia and Nigeria, especially Nigeria’s pivotal role during Liberia’s civil crisis. He emphasized the importance of continued bilateral legislative cooperation to strengthen democracy and regional integration.
