The office of Montserrado County District #1 Representative, has dedicated a newly constructed police facility coded as Zone 7-Depot 3 in Louisiana Township.
Representative Rugie Yatu Barry took the decision to build the depo ensuring that the people of Sass Town, Louisiana, encounter the presence of state security.
Rep. Barry broke ground for the project early last year, following a request from her constituents to construct a police station in the township.
Program that marked the official turning over was celebrated by an array of officials, mainly from the justice sector and residents of the township.
It was hosted on Saturday, February 28, 2026, in the township.
The depo consists of a charge of quarter, three offices, restroom, juvenile, male and female cells.
Rep. Barry meanwhile, presented the keys of three motorbikes intended for assigned officers to the Minister of Justice that were subsequently turned over to the Liberia National Police Inspector General, Gregory Coleman.
She pleaded with authorities to use the depot for its intended purpose.
Coleman promised to construct an annex to the depot for Women and Children Section.
“The building will increase access to justice in the area.”
Coleman assured residents that he will assign officers with the right discipline, and those who made sacrifices during difficult times in the area “will be selected to serve.”
