Elected Councilmen of the Township of Caldwell, Montserrado County, were sworn into office at the Taylor E. Mayor Hall in Taylor Mayor Compound on Saturday, September 6, 2025. During the induction ceremony, members and head of council, Ernest G. Bull, were honorably certificated by the Office of the Township Commissioner. The ceremony was witnessed by an array of dignitaries.
The program was well-attended and held at the newly built compound community hall, which constitutes that legal and sufficient authority was bestowed upon the new officials.
Those inducted are Ernest G. Bull- Council Chair, Melvin B. Conneh Co-Chair, M. Dinga Dukuly- General Secretary, Nelson Bedell, Sr. as Secretary, and Councilman Harrison G. Paye, Sr.
Mr. Bull was elated for the outstanding performance in the township, and his preferment was indeed celebrated to the position amid applause from those in attendance.
In his remarks, he shed light on inclusive leadership, transparency and teamwork with vital plans for the ordinances of communities, roads and drainages, electricity and jobs creation with emphasis on waste management for residential areas.
Mr. Bull underscored the need to invest in infrastructures, nurturing township programs, environmental protection, and ensuring public safety for all.
“Today we gather not only to celebrate, but to reflect on the challenges before us, and to discuss the crucial issues that will shape the future of our township.”
He also disclosed how the council wants to implement projects that would bring about good governance.
Being entrusted to serve as the spokesperson and administrative head, Mr. Bull thanked the out-going leadership for the foundation laid, and to the people for his preferment.
He made a commitment to improve ordinances of various communities, which he said, will be a matter of duty to his team.
Bull praised the stewardship of the township for the mutual cooperation and development within the area.
The occasion was supported by Commissioner Ibrahim Sarpee of Caldwell Township, who deliberated on the gains of collaboration in good leadership.
He encouraged residents to work collectively in leadership to embrace the welfare of the township.
He said Caldwell is divided into different walls, but warned the administration of the new council members to lead the inhabitants with good governance.
He meanwhile, recommends the construction of either a concrete road made of cement or an asphalt pavement to guarantee the movement and safety of both vehicles and pedestrians.
