The Ministry of Public Works (MPW) has conducted its quarterly Open Governance Partnership/Initiative (OGP), which coincided with its regular donor partners engagement.

At the engagement on Thursday, August 28, 2025, in Monrovia, MPW Minister, Roland L. Giddings, announced that the Open Governance Initiative, is intended to create the kind of transparent environment in which accountability and transparency are displayed in showcasing what they do at the ministry in accounting for their actions.
Giddings added: “This will allow the public to know what the ministry is all about, and how the ministry undertakes different projects.”
The objectives of the OGP quarterly updates, is intended to keep the public informed about key government’s projects and policies, engage citizens, stakeholders, and media to enhance transparency and encourage accountability by allowing public feedback and the participation in infrastructure decision-making.
“So, we are happy to be here to carry out our regular donor engagement, and it makes sense for us to continue engaging with our donor partners. On the other side, the Open Governance Initiative, we will also present some information about the ministry. There will be few units that will be during that so you know what we are doing, and this is open up to the public,” he said.
Giddings said the platform was created to exchange ideals, information, talk about projects, where they need to improve on coordination; they will do so, and they are going to continue on developmental delivery as plan.
The platform is going to continue as they remain engaged with the ministry donor partners in a regular meeting that happens every last Thursday of each month.
The Open Governance Initiative is also a regular quarterly event that provides’ updates on all government road and infrastructure projects being undertaking by the ministry, or its donor partners in the counties.
This plan reaffirms country’s commitment to public sector integrity, transparency, accountability, access to information and digital governance.
In this action plan, the ministry is to ensure transparency in infrastructure development projects.
