The MPC said the government of Liberia must come up and tell the Liberian people the clear truth about what happen at the CDC headquarters. “Government needs to be telling us the true story behind the violence that occurred between the police and the members of the CDC and let’s stop the blame game,” the party noted. According to the MPC, citizens of Liberia deserve transparency and accountability not to be experiencing disturbances through any form of violence. “There must be consequences for such massive disruptions and the injuries inflicted upon on the people and State,” the party said. The MPC called on government to do the needful and put in place preventive measures to prevent any form of violence that will disrupt the peace and economic activities in Liberia. For the second time in a month, the Liberia National Police (LNP) and supporters of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) have had a violence clash, causing chaos around the party’s headquarters. Thursday violence followed the August 5, 2024 violent incident after the LNP deployed riot police a stone’s throw away from the headquarters of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) in anticipation of a series of planned protests across Monrovia.  On Thursday the police fired tear gas at supporters of CDC, while supporters of CDC threw stones at the police, causing chaos and leaving many people to panic as they fled in fear for their lives.  Source: Lib Latest News231
