Bong County Senator, Prince K. Moye, has launched a legal drive to recover approximately US$11 million in Social Development Funds (SDF).

The money in question, is owed by China Union, but Sen. Moye demonstrated his unwavering commitment to ensure that communities benefit fully from local resources.

Sen. Moye explained that a Joint Legislative Committee report revealed the company contributed less than US$5 million of the US$15 million expected over the past ten years; shortchanging communities that rely on these funds for critical infrastructure and social services.

He said the initiative is designed to guarantee that communities in Bong County, and other affected areas receive their rightful benefits, which included investments in schools, healthcare facilities and roads.

Sen. Moye said all necessary documents are being prepared for presentation to his colleagues, as a strategic step toward legal recovery and accountability.

He said the recovered funds will be earmarked exclusively for community development projects, reflecting his vision of transparent, and responsible leadership.

The announcement comes as China Union prepares to resume operations, a moment that Senator Moye is leveraging to ensure maximum benefits for the people of Bong County.

At the formal opening of the Liberian Senate for the 3rd and final quarter of the 2nd Session of the 55th Legislature, Sen. Moye highlighted the importance of reclaiming funds to empower communities, enhance local infrastructure, and improve the lives of ordinary Liberians.
