Former Auditor General John Morlu has sharply criticized President Joseph Boakai and Josiah Joekai, Director of the Civil Service Agency (CSA), over recent dismissals of CDC-affiliated employees. Morlu has argues that these dismissals reflect poor governance and a disregard for fair treatment of Liberians. In his communication over the weekend, Morlu points out that while presidents have the right to make political appointments, they should not be allowed to make broad changes to the civil service. He noted that Liberia lacks a clear law on presidential appointments, leading to power misuse. Morlu also criticizes the administration for failing to create jobs and improve governance. He calls on President Boakai, Speaker Jonathan Fonati Koffa, and Senate Pro Tempore Nyonblee Karnga Lawrence to pass legislation regulating appointments and ensuring fair practices. He urges the current administration to focus on job creation rather than politically motivated dismissals, highlighting the need for stronger leadership and better governance in Liberia. His comments are in response to the alleged dismissal of about nine employees who are members of the Coalition for Democratic Change from the Monrovia City Corporation. Recently, these MCC employees were allegedly dismissed for constantly raining insults on President Joseph Boakai and other top government officials in the country.Monrovia Latest News
