Authorities at the Ministry of Health (MoH), through its Communication and Health Promotion Unit, has commenced a three-day intensive media capacity-building training on health-related issues.
The training, according to a release, is conducted in collaboration with the Ministry partners.
It is currently taking place in the port City of Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, with scores of Liberian journalists from every part of the country.
The conduct focuses on health communication, information management, as well as the Health Security Project.
The Project is designed to strengthen the country community preparedness, or ability in preventing, detecting and responding to public health threats, as well as building a system that will monitor the outbreaks of diseases, and as well identify unusual illnesses.
On the overview on Wednesday, December 4, MoH Deputy Communication and Promotion Director, Amadu Bah, said the project focuses on four key objectives.
The objects are named as improving Liberia’s capacity to detect, prevent, and respond to disease outbreaks, strengthens the national health system, and foster regional collaboration across transboundary areas.
