The Ministry of Education (MoE) has concluded an intensive awareness campaign on its Digital Learning Platform initiative.
The platform is known as Liberia Learns by Digital Radio and Television Program.
It engages key stakeholders, including school principals, and Parents-Teachers Associations (PTAs) in the county.
At the launch of the campaign, Dr. Salomey Tardy Hackman, Lead on Strategy and Impact, said the Learns Digital Radio and TV Program, is part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the education sector and improve learning outcomes for students nationwide.
Dr. Hackman said, the program is a national educational initiative led by the Ministry, and supported by the Public Sector Investment Program (PSIP).
The initiative is designed to improve literacy and numeracy skills among learners throughout the country.
Dr. Hackman said, the program delivers interactive lessons through radio, television, and digital devices to ensure that students in hard-to-reach communities have access to quality education.
The digital lessons help children learn proper speech, pronunciation, and comprehension using smartphones and other digital tools.
Following the Wednesday engagement, it was disclosed that the Ministry’s use of multiple platforms will enable students to access lessons easily, build confidence, and develop into future educators.
Blohkwon S. Toe, praised the Ministry for introducing the program into the school system.
Toe noted that the program will improve the efficiency of teaching and learning in the county.
Principal of Barclayville Central High School, Johnny Toe, Jr., described the digital platform as an “effective and user-friendly learning tool that will support teachers and help students better understand their lessons.”
