Medical Outreach Benefits Salala District

The Kweshie Tetteh Foundation, has successfully concluded a two-day medical outreach in Salala District. The exercise, brought the much-needed healthcare services to residents in that remote communities.  The outreach, held from February 20–21, 2026, was coordinated by Theophilus Natee, and reached dozens of people, who often struggle to access basic medical care. Organizers reported that the initiative provided general consultations, basic treatment, and health education, It addressed critical healthcare gaps in the district. Many residents are grappled with challenges reaching medical facilities due to the long distance to trek on, the high costs, and limited local resources, which made the Foundation’s intervention particularly impactful. At the start of the program, Kweshie Tetteh, Chief Executive Officer of the Kweshie Tetteh Foundation, highlighted the persistent challenges in both health and education sectors in Salala District.  He underscored the importance that the Foundation’s took to heart to dedicate support to vulnerable groups, especially women and children. “We are committed to help our people, particularly children and women. I also urge all sons and daughters of Salala District to join us in these efforts. Our collective support is essential for the wellbeing of our communities,” Tetteh said. Community members expressed gratitude for the outreach, noting that it reduced the financial burden to seek medical care and provide immediate relief to families. Many of the residents described the services as “timely” as some of them received treatments and consultations for the first time in months. Tetteh confirmed that similar outreach programs are planned for the coming months, signaling the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to improve health and wellness in the district.  These program aims to strengthen local health systems, provide preventive care, and support the long-term wellbeing of communities in Salala and neighboring areas.

The outreach highlighted the critical role of non-governmental organizations in expanding healthcare access to remote communities where resources are scarce.
