Maintenance Works To Affect Regional Electricity Imports

The Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) has informed the general public that it has received official communication from its regional counterparts regarding scheduled maintenance works on their transmission network.

According to TRANSCO-CLSG, maintenance activities will be carried out on its 225kV transmission lines from March 26 to 28, 2026, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily.

Additionally, the Corporation has also reported technical issues with generation.

Henceforth, power supply will be reduced until the issue is resolved.

As a result of these issues, power supply to parts of Monrovia, and surrounding communities may be interrupted or experience outages during the three days’ period.

“These temporary disruptions are necessary to facilitate essential upgrades, and to ensure the long-term reliability and stability of the regional power supply network.”

To reduce the impact of these disruptions, LEC will utilize its thermal and hydro generation capacity to provide partial electricity supply.

Customers are therefore encouraged to plan accordingly, and take the necessary precautions throughout the maintenance period.

LEC assures its customers that it is working closely with its regional partners to minimize the impact of these disruptions, and restore normal service, and appreciates their continued patience and understanding as efforts continue to improve electricity supply in every part of the country.
