Maryland County Electoral District #3 Representative, Austin B. Taylor, has confirmed the procurement of earthmoving equipment.

The equipment are intended to address the longstanding deplorable road conditions across Karluway and Barrobo districts.

Rep. Taylor described the initiative as a major step to restore the “falling image” of the district, and transform it into a competitive region in the Southeastern corridor.

He called on residents to support the effort by spreading the message, and showing collective responsibility to the district’s development.

Taylor said, the equipment was purchased several months ago, and “successfully transported to the country,” but the delay to reach the county was due to “other administrative channels” that have now been resolved.

He made the disclosure to the delight of residents when he appeared on a local Vai-language Radio Program on Monday, December 1, 2025.

Taylor said, the district (#3), has long been considered the “breadbasket of the county,” but remains one of the most inaccessible regions due to poor road conditions.

“Our people have suffered for too long. It is time we put the district interest above individual interest.”

Rep. Taylor added that the introduction of the earthmoving machines marks a significant milestone, not only politically, but economically as it will improve farm-to-market access and bring relief to residents, who have struggled with transportation for decades.

He further disclosed that upon his return to the district, several completed projects will be formally dedicated.

Taylor meanwhile, assured residents that these projects are part of his broader vision to rebuild, and reposition the district for sustainable growth and prosperity.
