The Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA) has officially launched a Content Monetization Training Program.
The exercise was done in collaboration with the ministries of Information, Youth and Sports to empower young Liberians and digital content creators.
In the end, the trainees are expected to earn income through the various online platforms.
The training, which commenced on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, in the Oldest Congo Town, brought together aspiring content creators, media practitioners, and entrepreneurs seeking to harness the growing opportunities within the digital economy space.
Participants are being equipped with practical skills in content creation, branding, audience engagement, and strategies for monetizing digital content in YouTube and TikTok platforms.
LTA Commissioner for Consumer Affairs, Patrick Honnah, underscored the importance of digital content creation.
Honnah described the system as a viable pathway for economic empowerment and job creation.
He underscored the importance of digital innovation in driving economic growth and self-employment, particularly for young people.
Honnah: As the internet access continues to expand, there is a growing need to ensure that citizens are not just consumers of online content, but active creators that can generate revenue and build sustainable careers.”
Maylouisa Noel Hill, Assistant Information Minister for Rebranding and New Media, highlighted the government’s commitment to promote digital literacy, and support initiatives that amplify Liberian voices online.
Madam Hill encouraged participants to use their platforms responsibly, promote positive national narratives, and contribute to the country’s image both locally and internationally.
This initiative marks another step in Liberia’s broader efforts to strengthen digital capacity, reduce unemployment, and position the youth to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world.
